Song Track Uploading Policy

This policy sets out the guidelines for uploading music to Flowtuna. Following these requirements helps your releases pass review quickly and meet the quality standards of every store we deliver to.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Flowtuna. This Song Track Uploading Policy provides detailed guidelines for uploading music tracks to our platform. To ensure the best quality and compliance across every store, please follow these requirements carefully.

2. Accepted formats

  • Audio formats: we accept WAV, AIFF, MP3, OGG, M4A and FLAC.
  • File size: the maximum size for each track is 4 GB.
  • File duration:
    • Uncompressed formats (WAV/AIFF): up to 2 hours.
    • Lossy formats (MP3): up to 5 hours.

3. Track quality

  • Sample rate: all files must have a minimum sample rate of 44.1 kHz.
  • Bit rate: for MP3 files, the bit rate must be at least 128 kbps.
  • Audio quality: upload the rawest version of your mix available. Avoid unnecessary compression or conversion to lossy formats before uploading. For best results, provide audio at a sample rate and bit depth matching your original recordings.

4. Metadata requirements

  • Title & artist name: provide accurate and complete information for the track title and artist name.
  • Album information: include the album title, release year and genre where applicable.
  • Cover art: upload high-resolution square cover art of at least 3000 × 3000 pixels (JPG or PNG, RGB) that is relevant to the track and free of unauthorised logos, URLs or third-party trademarks.

5. Content guidelines

  • Appropriate content: tracks must comply with legal and community standards. Explicit content must be labelled appropriately.
  • No harmful content: tracks must not contain material that promotes hate speech, violence or illegal activities.
  • Copyright & permissions: ensure your track is original and does not contain cover songs, samples or compositions from other artists unless you have obtained explicit permission. If you do not hold the necessary permissions, your track will be removed and you will be responsible for any legal claims arising from its content. Flowtuna is not liable for legal actions arising from uploaded tracks.

6. Upload checklist

  • Format: upload uncompressed formats such as WAV or AIFF for the best quality. Acceptable lossy formats include MP3, OGG, M4A and FLAC.
  • Channels: ensure your audio is stereo. Surround-sound files are not accepted.
  • Duration: audio must be at least 5 seconds long and must not exceed 2 hours for WAV/AIFF or 5 hours for MP3.
  • File size: ensure your file is less than 4 GB.

7. Legal compliance

  • Copyright & ownership: ensure you hold all rights required to upload the track, including copyright and intellectual property rights.
  • Licences & permissions: obtain all licences and permissions required for the music and any associated content.
  • Liability: you are solely responsible for any legal claims related to the content of your track. Flowtuna is not liable for legal proceedings arising from your uploads.

8. Review and approval

  • Quality check: all uploaded tracks are reviewed for quality and compliance with this policy.
  • Rejection: we reserve the right to reject any track that does not meet our standards or violates this policy.

9. Your responsibilities

  • Accuracy: ensure all information you provide is accurate and up to date.
  • Notifications: notify us immediately of any change in ownership or rights related to an uploaded track.
